"Bringing Art to the People and People to the Arts"

Opening Reception
Friday, November 18
5:30-7:00pm

You are invited to join Blue Ridge Arts Center for the opening reception of The Little Big Show! We have transformed the gallery to highlight not just the ‘big’, refined, finished artworks we are accoustomed to seeing, but also the ‘little’, inspirational sketches and color studies which inform the final works. We hope you’ll enjoy this peek into the artistic process.

The reception is free and open to the public. Light hors d’oeuvres, drinks and sweet desserts will be served. We are looking forward to see you there!

As always, don’t miss your chance to view the amazing artworks in all of our galleries.

Members’ Challenge: Homage to the Queen

With a reign of 70 years, Queen Elizabeth was the longest living British monarch in history. She also has the longest verified reign of any female sovereign in history. Our members took inspiration from the queen, her crown, her many hats or her corgis, let their creative juices flow. On view in our Foyer Gallery through December 16.

Acrylic, collage, watercolor, ink… Deb King has mastered it all when it comes to art. “Nothing on my work table is off limits as an art tool. My inspiration may come from a photo, a song title or my imagination. I never throw away a piece that isn’t working. I just put it away for a day or a month until I am ready to approach it with fresh eyes.”
