Evening with an Artist
Our “Evening with an Artist” events bring artists and community members to BRAC for a casual discussion with interesting artists in our area. Local artists are invited to showcase their talent in a small group setting. Wine and refreshments will be served. Guests are able to view and discuss work directly with the artist.
Unveiling “Installation Art” with Susan Perry

What is “installation art”? Experience the kinetic energy of the handmade paper sculptures with artist Susan Perry. Explore the history and transformation of handmade paper, mixed media and installation art as well as the artist’s personal story of collaboration with a dancer, a poet, and a musician enhance the experience of the art installation? She will then share the transformative journey of “Unveiling.”
About Susan Perry
Born in Augsburg, Germany, Susan Perry is now a South Carolina-based sculptor, painter, and installation artist. Her artworks focus on kinetic energy and expressive spirit in handmade paper sculpture and mixed media installations.
Perry received an M.F.A. in Drawing and Painting from California State University, Long Beach. Perry has shown nationally with solo exhibitions in Los Angeles, California; Tampa, Florida; and Charlotte, North Carolina. Works can be found in private and corporate collections. Recently retired from a museum career, Perry also taught art on the college level in Los Angeles, California; Tampa, Florida; Charlotte, North Carolina; and Birmingham, Alabama.
