JUROR: STEVEN CHAPP

Steven hails from Kansas City, Missouri, but spent his teens in the Bay Area and his college years in the Carolinas. He has a BS in Art Education from Appalachian State with a major in printmaking and drawing. He has an MFA in Printmaking and Drawing from Clemson University.

He retired from public education after 29 years. Over the course of his professional career, Steven has taught various media at Greenville County Museum of Art; The Fine Arts Center; The Governor’s School; Clemson’s Genoa, Italy campus; as well as many printmaking workshops and private workshops and classes in printmaking at his print studio, Black Dog Press in Easley.

iF Art Gallery in Columbia, SC and Joel Wilkinson in Greenville, SC represent Steven’s works where he has had multiple solo and group exhibits as well as at regional art galleries. Steven is dedicated to keeping printmaking in the public eye and has initiated four print exchanges and participated in ten national and international print exchanges.

Steven is a founding member of the Contemporary Print Collective, a group of S.C. artists that work in various print media. He is currently consulting with the Greenville Center for Creative Arts print studio construction.
