Our “Evening with an Author” series events bring artists and community members to BRAC for a casual discussion and/or demonstration in a small group setting. Light refreshments will be served. Guests are able to view and discuss work directly with the author.
Author Talk & Book Signing
Featuring Local Author Christian Thormose

First Chapter Bookshop and Blue Ridge Arts Center are pleased to present an author talk and book signing featuring Christian Thormose. Doors open at 5:30pm and conversation begins promptly at 6:00pm. Each ticket includes event admission, a copy of “The Taste of Trouble”, and refreshments. After the program has concluded, there will be an opportunity to have your book signed by the author.

Meet Christian
Chef, Author and Culinary Advocate
“Christian Thormose, a professional chef with decades of experience, brings his culinary expertise and insider knowledge to this high-stakes mystery. The Taste of Trouble delivers an authentic, suspenseful thriller only a real chef could craft.”
Born in Odense, Denmark, Christian Thormose’s culinary journey began with a rigorous four-year apprenticeship, culminating in his graduation from culinary school in Copenhagen. His passion for the craft led him across Denmark, France, and the United States, where he honed his skills as a cook, sous-chef, and executive chef in some of the finest kitchens.
In 2008, Christian was selected as one of the Executive Chefs for the Beijing Summer Olympics, a prestigious role he reprised in 2012 at the London Summer Olympics, showcasing his expertise on an international stage.
Beyond the kitchen, Christian is deeply committed to sustainability and community food initiatives, serving as an active member of the Oconee Food Council, where he advocates for local sourcing and responsible culinary practices.
In 2019, he authored Tastes of Clemson Blue Cheese, a book that celebrates local flavors, culinary artistry, and the rich history of Clemson’s beloved blue cheese.
With a career spanning continents and a dedication to both excellence and education, Christian continues to inspire chefs and food lovers alike.
