Our “Literary Arts” series events bring local authors and community members to BRAC for a casual conversations and book signing in a small group setting. Light refreshments will be served.


Conversation & Book Signing

First Chapter Bookshop and Blue Ridge Arts Center are pleased to present Cathy Rigg and Stacia Pelletier in conversation. Doors open at 5:30 PM and conversation begins promptly at 6:00 PM. Each ticket includes event admission, one signed book, and refreshments. During checkout, please select either “That Which Bind Us” by Cathy Rigg or “The Deliverance of Barker McRae” by Stacia Pelletier as your signed copy.

Meet Cathy

Cathy Rigg is an author and maker with far more interests than she has time. Born and raised in Virginia’s Appalachian Mountains, her debut novel, That Which Binds Us, was published by Keylight Books in June of 2025. A work of historical fiction, the story is set in those beloved mountains and centers around five people whose lives intersect during the tumultuous years of the Civil War.

Meet Stacia

Stacia Pelletier is a historical novelist, writer, and editor. Nominated twice for the Townsend Prize in Fiction, Georgia’s highest literary honor, she is the author of three novels. A writer with a day job, Stacia currently serves as executive director of corporate and foundation relations at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and was previously the speechwriter for the president of Emory University. She holds an MDiv and a PhD in the history of religion from Emory.
