September 1st marks the beginning a new membership year at Blue Ridge Arts Center and our Annual Members’ Show is the first gallery show of the new year. It is open to anyone who becomes a member or renews their membership. Each new/renewing member is invited to submit 1-2 original pieces of art executed by the artist within the last two years and not previously shown at Blue Ridge Arts Center. This show is FREE for BRAC Members! There is no theme or special requirements, we just want to see what our members have been up to and what they are creating!

This is an ‘open’ show – all submitted works will be displayed. Entries must be registered ONLINE no later than 5pm on Thursday, September 11, 2025. Artwork must then be dropped off at Blue Ridge Arts Center on Friday, September 12 (1-4pm) or Saturday, September 13 (10am-1pm).

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND! ARTWORK BACKSTORIES

We would like to give viewers a peek behind the artwork and a chance to appreciate it on a deeper level. Artists are encouraged to include a brief, 100-word (or less) backstory with each of their submissions. Backstories will be posted with their respective artworks and included in a notebook available to visitors at the show.

Eligibility

Open to Blue Ridge Arts Center members (you’ll be given the option to join or renew your membership when signing up for the show). This is an ‘open’ show – all submitted works will be displayed and awards will be presented.

Artists may submit 1-2 original works created in the last 2 years, which have not previously been exhibited in any Blue Ridge Arts Center gallery.

2025-2026 Membership Levels

  • Individual Membership: $40
  • Family Membership: $50
  • Student Membership: $30

Membership fees are non-refundable and due at time of registration. Proceeds fund BRAC operating expenses.

Media

Any 2D or 3D media which meet the following criteria is welcome:

  • Gallery-wrapped canvases which are over 1” thick, may be unframed, but all edges must be painted and canvas must be wired for hanging.
  • Thinner canvases and all other 2D work must be securely framed and wired for hanging (no sawtooth hangers).
  • 3D work must sit solidly on a pedestal/floor or be securely mounted & wired for hanging.
  • Artwork must require no assembly
  • Jewelry must be presented in a shadow box.

Community Awards

Members of our Seneca and greater Upstate community will be invited to select their favorite works as award winners in this year’s Members’ Show.

No early pick-up is allowed. Artwork left longer than 30 days after designated pick-up becomes the property of the Arts Center.

Promotional Release

By entering this show, you grant Blue Ridge Arts Center and its successors the right to photograph or record any entry submitted for purposes of publicity or education. Photographs of artwork and artists may also be taken during drop-off, pick-up, receptions or open gallery hours. Photographs may be used online and/or in print, but will never be sold.

Sales

Artists may offer their work for sale. BRAC will retain a 35% sales commission. Work must remain for the duration of the show. No early pick-ups.
