Calling all artists for a Fabulous Forgeries challenge! This is your chance to put your own twist on one of the OLD MASTERS. Choose an master artist from long ago or one from more recent times. Then, draw, paint, sculpt, photograph, or Etch-a-Sketch one of their masterpieces… and make it your own! If they worked in oil, copy their work in watercolor. If they worked large, copy their work small. If they took black and white photographs, reproduce one in vibrant acrylic colors. Turn 2D to 3D or vice versa. There are so many options and so many ways to make their work your own. For a different challenge, just go ahead and copy it exactly… that is how all the MASTERS learned! It’s up to you. Be creative and let the MASTER inspire you. Please sign your piece: “Inspired by (Master’s Name) by (Your Name).” We do not want anyone to go to jail for having fun! Please bring a 5” X 7” picture of the work that you inspired when you drop off your entry(ies). |

MEMBERS’ CHALLENGE:Arts Center members are invited to create a piece for our Members’ Challenge show: MIRROR ~ MIRRORMirror mirror on the wall… How do you see yourself and the world around you? A mirror doesn’t just show us what’s in front of it. It awakens memories from the past, evokes feelings in the present and sparks the imagination of what’s possible. In an artist’s eye is the reflection of everything possible… so what do you see? How will you interpret this challenge? Work must be registered online prior to drop-off. |
