  Out of an abundance of caution regarding the COVID-19 virus, we have decided to postpone our usual usual reception indefinitely. Once the local state of affairs improves and we are once again free to move about our community, we will decide how to move forward with this and future shows.


JUROR: SAM WANG

Sam Wang was born in Beijing in 1939 and grew up in Hong Kong. He received an MFA in 1966 from the University of Iowa in photography with a minor in painting. He initiated the photography and “art with computer” programs at Clemson University and taught for 40 years before retiring in 2006 as Alumni Distinguished Professor of Art. He received an Honored Educator recognition from the Society for Photographic Education – Southeast Region in 2007. In 2012, he received the Elizabeth Verner Award from the SC Arts Commission/ Gov. Haley for his contributions to the arts in SC. Sam’s work has been exhibited, collected, and published widely in the US and internationally. Some of his work can be seen at www.samwang.us.

PROMOTIONAL RELEASE

Artists grant BRAC and its successors the right to photograph their artwork for use in advertising BRAC both online and in print. Photos will not be sold.

MEMBERS’ CHALLENGE:

“JUNK REFUNK”

Members’ Challenges are FREE non-juried shows open to Arts Center members, which coincide with of our primary gallery shows. These challenges are designed to motivate our members to explore new directions as they create pieces for these unique shows. There is no fee to participate, but you must be a BRAC member and we ask that all Member Challenge pieces be available for sale. You may submit one piece for each challenge and work should be dropped offer during our normal show drop off period listed above.
