2020 Photography Show

The Blue Ridge Arts Center welcomes artists from across the nation to submit work to our 4th Annual National Juried Photography Exhibition. This year's show will be on display from March 20 through April 23 is open to all photographers in the United States. The exhibit will be held in the Blue Ridge Arts Center Gallery, 111 E. South Second Street, Seneca South Carolina, 29678.

Sam Wang was born in Beijing in 1939 and grew up in Hong Kong. He received an MFA in 1966 from the University of Iowa in photography with a minor in painting. He initiated the photography and “art with computer” programs at Clemson University and taught for 40 years before retiring in 2006 as Alumni Distinguished Professor of Art. He received an Honored Educator recognition from the Society for Photographic Education - Southeast Region in 2007. In 2012, he received the Elizabeth Verner Award from the SC Arts Commission/ Gov. Haley for his contributions to the arts in SC. Sam’s work has been exhibited, collected, and published widely in the US and internationally. Some of his work can be seen at www.samwang.us.


Open to all artists residing in the United States. Only original artwork executed by the artist within the last three years and not previously shown in the Blue Ridge Arts Center will be considered. Finished size including framing not to exceed 30x40 inches. BRAC reserves the right to reject offensive or controversial content.

  • Non-traditional materials and/or mixed media
  • Digital images derived from the artist’s own sources

Please Note:

  • Work must be securely framed & wired.
  • Gallery wrapped canvas may be unframed; all others must have finished edges.


  • Best in Show: $500
  • 2nd Place: $250
  • 3rd Place: $150
  • Merit Awards (2): $75


  • Artists may choose to offer their work for sale.
  • BRAC will retain a 35% sales commission.
  • Work must remain for the duration of the show.

Jury Notification:
Saturday, February 29
All artists (accepted and non-accepted) will be notified via email and a list of accepted artwork will be online.


If your work is accepted, you will receive a notification by email by February 29, which will include delivery instructions. All work must be ready for installation, wire hanger attached.

Shipped work must arrive at the Blue Ridge Arts Center no later than Saturday, March 14 in a sturdy reusable container. Shipped entries must include return shipping fees or artwork will not be returned to the artist. Call 561-889-9215 to discuss possible printing of your image locally to avoid shipping.

Hand-delivered work may be dropped off at Blue Ridge Arts Center on Friday, March 13 (1-4pm) or Saturday, March 14 (10am-1pm).


The exhibition closes April 23. Hand-delivered work must be picked up on April 24 (1-4pm) or April 25 (10am-1pm). Shipped work will be returned via UPS and will be insured for the stated value of the piece(s) unless specified otherwise. Shipped entries must include return UPS shipping fees or the artwork will not be returned to the artist.

The gallery cannot be held responsible for any damage or loss to artwork that has been left more than 30 days following posted deadlines for picking up work. Artwork left longer than 30 days becomes the property of the Blue Ridge Arts Center.


Artists grant BRAC and its successors the right to photograph their artwork for use in advertising BRAC both online and in print. Photos will not be sold.

Members' Challenges are FREE non-juried shows open to Arts Center members, which coincide with of our primary gallery shows. These challenges are designed to motivate our members to explore new directions as they create pieces for these unique shows. There is no fee to participate, but you must be a BRAC member and we ask that all Member Challenge pieces be available for sale. You may submit one piece for each challenge and work should be dropped offer during our normal show drop off period listed above.
